// X-Men: First Class – Character Trailers

// Last week I ate my weight in meat. On another positive note, it was also a good week for X-Men fans too. 20th Century Fox have released four character-centric trailers for X-Men: First Class.

Cast your viewing units over them below. New characters including Havok (Lucas Till) and Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones) not previously seen in the X-Men movies are given a proper salutations. Havok has the same weird red energy laser beam, like Cyclops did with his eyes, located conveniently in his chest. On the plus side I guess he doesn’t have to wear sunglasses indoors like his brother. Banshee emits sound waves finely tuned to destroyed objects or allowing him to fly and do things he really shouldn’t. Think of him like the mutated form of Amy Trashfail/Winehouse.

Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Beast (Nicholas Hoult) are also introduced, but their story line looks a bit smelly purely because they strike up a plutonic relationship. I say smelly on the basis that some inter-mutant breeding would be sweet. As we know their futures are separate as one sides with magneto and the other with Professor X, so at last that should provide some intrigue.

The weird energy rings section looks a bit shit, but otherwise I’m still holding out hope for this movie. Matthew Vaughn is generally a great director. I do not wish to be proven wrong.

X-Men: First Class is directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Oliver Platt and Kevin Bacon

Synopsis: X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
